Hinshaw Partner Russell S. Ponessa Admitted to American College of Trial Lawyers

The U.S. law firm Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP is very pleased to announce that Minneapolis partner Russell S. Ponessa has been inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers (ACTL). His induction into the ACTL, one of the premier legal associations in North America, took place at the Spring 2022 Meeting of the College in San Diego, California.
Founded in 1950, the ACTL is composed of the best of the trial bar from the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico. Fellowship in the College is extended by invitation only, and only after careful investigation, to those experienced trial lawyers of diverse backgrounds who have the mastered the art of advocacy and whose professional careers have been marked by the highest standards of ethical conduct, professionalism, civility and collegiality. Membership in the College cannot exceed one percent of the total lawyer population of any state or province.
Ponessa is a trial lawyer with over 30 years of experience representing companies whose products or business practices are under attack. He has a wide-ranging civil litigation practice with substantial experience in the areas of product and professional liability, toxic torts, business and other commercial disputes, and class actions.
"Russ is a tremendously accomplished trial lawyer, and a leader by example to his Hinshaw colleagues," said Firm Chairman Peter Sullivan. "I particularly appreciate his willingness to mentor and educate our younger lawyers on how to effectively litigate on behalf of clients. This is very well-deserved recognition."
