The U.S. law firm of Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP is pleased to announce that partner Charles R. Schmadeke has been re-appointed as Chair of the Illinois Gaming Board by Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker. The five-member advisory board is appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the Illinois Senate.
The Illinois Gaming Board is responsible for ensuring the safety and integrity of Illinois gaming. Through the Administrator and civilian and sworn agency staff, the Gaming Board administers and enforces regulatory, licensing, oversight, and tax collection systems.
Schmadeke is the partner-in-charge of Hinshaw's office in Springfield, IL, and has over twenty-five years of litigation, mediation, and administrative law experience. He has represented and counseled governmental clients on a wide variety of matters, including governance, organization and fiscal issues, civil rights, regulation enforcement, and employment. Schmadeke has served as the Chair of the Illinois Gaming Board since his appointment in 2019.
