The U.S. law firm Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP is pleased to announce that Minneapolis partner Amy L. DuMond Kottke was among 29 women selected by Twin Cities Business for its "Notable Women in Law" list in 2022. Each year, Twin Cities Business recognizes women attorneys for professional and leadership accomplishments, mentorship, pro bono work that addresses social or economic issues, and for their efforts to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion.
With more than two decades of experience with real estate matters, Kottke represents owners and lenders on all aspects of business transactions and advises clients nationwide on real estate development, financing, acquisitions and sales, mergers, commercial leasing and construction issues. A recognized experienced "lenders counsel," she also advises owners and lenders in complex financing and loan products, including Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Section 8 and HUD-insured loans.
A thoughtful and talented mentor, Kottke is strongly committed to guiding young attorneys and women in the real estate profession and serves as a formal mentor for Hinshaw associates. For more than 20 years, she has been an active member of Minnesota Network of Commercial Real Estate women (MNCREW).
"We are thrilled that Amy has been recognized by Twin Cities Business for her professional accomplishments, mentorship and commitment to our community," said Kevin Coan, partner-in-charge of Hinshaw’s Minneapolis office. "Through her leadership, she has attracted young talent to the legal profession, and she has a successful track record of guiding numerous attorneys from associate to partnership."
Kottke also volunteers many hours each year with Minnesota Warriors Ice Hockey, a non-profit organization that provides wounded veterans an opportunity to play ice hockey. In addition to volunteering at tournaments and fundraising events, she serves as non-profit counsel for the organization, and assists the Board of Directors with government documents and policy implementation. She also serves as head of the disciplinary committee and as liaison with U.S. Hockey.
