The firm is excited to announce the debut of a new podcast titled Insurance Law Radio. Hosted by Scott Seaman, a Chicago-based partner and co-chair of the national Insurance & Reinsurance Services, the podcast will initially air on the Blog Talk Radio network. Featuring guests that will include prominent attorneys as well as members of the insurance and reinsurance industry, Insurance Law Radio will provide interesting discussions, analysis, and updates on insurance coverage, reinsurance, bad faith, defense, dispute resolution, and litigation management issues, cases, and other developments impacting insurance and reinsurance practitioners, and professionals.
The first episode features a discussion between Scott and Edward K. Lenci of Hinshaw about "Reinsurance Arbitrations & Arbitration Clauses." Topics include choice of forum and contents of arbitration clauses and how ceding companies, reinsurers, and reinsurance intermediaries may draft effective arbitration provisions to realize the fairness and efficiency parties seek to achieve in submitting disputes to arbitration. The episode was recorded at a meeting of the Intermediaries and Reinsurance Underwriters Association.
Numerous experienced reinsurance arbitrators and umpires were in attendance. In the question and answer session, they raise issues and provide insights concerning reinsurance arbitrations that you may find to be interesting. Listen to the full episode.
