The U.S. law firm of Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP is pleased to announce that it has been given a perfect score of 100 on the 2018 Corporate Equality Index (CEI) and that it has been named one of the "Best Places to Work for LGBTQ Equality." The firm has received a 100 percent rating on the CEI for nine consecutive years.
The CEI is administered by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation. It is a national benchmarking survey, which evaluates policies and practices including non-discrimination workplace protections, domestic partner benefits, transgender-inclusive health care benefits, competency programs, and public engagement with the LGBTQ community. Hinshaw is among 127 law firms nationwide to achieve the 100 percent ranking this year.
"We remain steadfast in our commitment to ensuring equality and inclusion for members of the LGBTQ community at our firm," said Hinshaw Chairman Kevin Burke. "We're proud of the initiatives and programs we have introduced to facilitate LGBTQ-inclusive workplace training, both for our clients and our own attorneys and staff. We will continue to closely align our firm with the Corporate Equality Index criteria."
Since 1980, the Human Rights Campaign has sought to improve the lives of LGBTQ Americans by advocating for equal rights and benefits in the workplace, ensuring families are treated equally under the law, and increasing public support among all Americans through innovative advocacy, education, and outreach programs.
