Fernando Rivera-Maissonet Appointed to the New York City Bar Association Consumer Affairs Committee

The law firm of Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP is pleased to announce that partner Fernando Rivera-Maissonet has been appointed to serve on the Consumer Affairs Committee of the New York City Bar Association (NYCBA) for the 2025 – 2026 term.
The Consumer Affairs Committee focuses on consumer protection at all levels and encourages member involvement through topic presentations and position papers. As a committee member, Fernando will participate in monthly meetings featuring experts on consumer finance, advertising, and data privacy, and also help organize the annual Consumer Financial Services Law Symposium. The committee analyzes laws and regulations and collaborates with fellow NYCBA committees on legislative issues and program organization. Learn more about the committee on the NYCBA website.
Fernando has over a decade of experience representing financial institutions in a wide range of legal issues. His primary practice areas include consumer financial services, mortgage servicing, and lender litigation. He works closely with his clients to strategize cost-effective solutions to meet their business objectives.
Fernando is active in the legal community, serving in several leadership roles, including as the Deputy Regional Governor for Region II and the Business Law Section Co-Chair of the Hispanic National Bar Association, the Co-Chair of Hinshaw’s Hispanic Latino Affinity Network (HLAN), and a Next Generation Lideres Mentor of the LatinoJustice PRLDEF.
