Fernando C. Rivera-Maissonet Reappointed Co-Chair of the Hispanic National Bar Association’s Business Law Section

The law firm of Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP is pleased to announce that Fernando C. Rivera-Maissonet has been reappointed as the Co-Chair of the Hispanic National Bar Association (HNBA)’s Business Law Section for the 2025–2026 term. He previously served as Co-Chair of the Section from 2024–2025, Chair from 2023–2024, and Vice Chair from 2022–2023.
The HNBA Business Law Section serves HNBA members and the profession by furthering the development and improvement of business law, providing education in business law and related professional responsibilities, updates on legislative and case law developments, and helping members to serve their clients competently, efficiently, and professionally. Fernando has over a decade of experience advising financial institutions on a wide range of consumer finance disputes and regulatory matters, including consumer financial services, mortgage servicing, lender litigation, and foreclosure, title, and statutory claims.
A committed leader in the legal community, Fernando co-chairs the firm’s Hispanic Latino Affinity Network and holds multiple leadership roles within the Hispanic National Bar Association, including Deputy Regional Governor for Region II and leadership of the Business Law Section. He is an alumnus of the ABA’s Collaborative Bar Leadership Academy and serves as a mentor with LatinoJustice PRLDEF.
Fernando is also involved in the New York City Bar Association’s Consumer Affairs Committee and the Puerto Rican Bar Association. Recognized among the HNBA’s “Top Lawyers Under 40,” Fernando helps advance initiatives that foster professional development, mentorship, and representation across the profession.
