Craig Liljestrand Receives IADC Excellence in Legal Writing Award

The law firm of  Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP is pleased to announce that Hinshaw partner Craig Liljestrand has been awarded the 2023 George W. Yancey Memorial Award for excellence in writing by the International Association of Defense Counsel (IADC). The IADC singled out Liljestrand's Defense Counsel Journal byline, "PFAS Exposure: A Comprehensive Look at Emerging Facts and Studies, Risk and Liability Assessment, Litigation History, Evolving Regulations and Future Predictions."

Liljestrand received the award at the 2023 IADC Annual Meeting in Hawaii. The article analyzes Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) and their potential risk to human and environmental health. It also reviews PFAS-related litigation and regulatory trends, and anticipates that litigation will continue to increase. The article concludes with a discussion of potential risk management strategies for companies with PFAS liability exposure.
