Catherine Basque Weiler Elected President of the Appellate Lawyers Association

The law firm of Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP is pleased to announce that Catherine Basque Weiler has been sworn in as President of the Appellate Lawyers Association (ALA) for the 2024-2025 term.
Basque Weiler has been an active ALA officer for more than a decade. Before assuming her role as President, she served as ALA's Vice President (2023-2024), Secretary (2022-2023), Treasurer (2021-2022), and member of the Board of Directors (2013-2015).
Founded in 1968, the ALA is an association of lawyers practicing in Illinois appellate courts of review and judges serving on those courts. The group's honorary members include sitting judges from all the reviewing courts in Illinois.

Basque Weiler serves as the chair of Hinshaw’s appellate practice and has almost two decades of experience handling significant civil appellate matters and critical motions in state and federal courts.
Representing companies in all trial and appellate phases, she appears regularly before the Illinois Appellate Court and the Seventh Circuit. Basque Weiler has represented clients in federal and state appellate courts across several states, including California, North Carolina, Missouri, Indiana, Wisconsin, Tennessee, Texas, and Colorado.
