Aimee E. Delaney, a partner in the Chicago office of Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP, has been selected by her peers and named by the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin and Chicago Lawyer® magazine as one of 2011’s 40 Illinois Attorneys Under 40 to Watch. This honor recognizes young attorneys who show a passion for their profession, have had a series of successful results, and demonstrate commitment to the legal profession.
One individual who nominated Ms. Delaney for the award commented that, “[her] effective oral advocacy, knowledge of the law, and focus on what was practical and prudent served [her client] well.” Another, a now-retired judge, noted, “Aimee’s professional and courteous nature, and the respect she demonstrated toward opposing counsel at all times were assets that served her client exceptionally well in the settlement conferences and court-assisted mediations that took place in the cases that she litigated before me.”
Ms. Delaney focuses much of her practice in labor and employment counseling and litigation. She represents employers in both class and individual claims of discrimination, harassment, wage and hour violations, breach of contract disputes, as well as grievance arbitrations. Ms. Delaney also counsels employers on reduction-in-force plans, termination, severance agreements, disciplinary action and employment contracts. Additionally, as part of her commercial litigation practice, she serves as Special Assistant Attorney General in the defense of various Illinois state agencies in major class action cases challenging the constitutionality of state policies.
