Scott Seaman Discusses New Developments Regarding Exclusions for War and State-Sponsored Cyberattacks

Scott Seaman—Chicago-based partner and co-chair of Hinshaw's global Insurance Services Practice Group—recently discussed with Law360 Insurance Authority new developments regarding war exclusions as well as exclusions that address state-sponsored cyberattacks in an article titled, "5 Cyberinsurance Developments To Be Thankful For."
Seaman cited war exclusions implemented by Lloyd's of London, which require their insurer groups to exclude coverage of state-backed cyberattacks from all stand-alone cyberinsurance policies by the end of March 2023.
Seaman stated that one of the issues presented is the attribution of attacks to state actors.
