Hinshaw partner Ross Manella was quoted in a recent Daily Business Review article about why some New York-based business owners and high-net-worth individuals are contemplating relocation to Florida, following the election of New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani.
Ross said he has heard from several clients over the years regarding a potential relocation from New York, specifically due to tax considerations. With Mandani’s election, some of these people have decided to take action.
Ross said businesses have called him recently and said, “Let’s start the process … we’re just going to do it.” He added that Florida’s combination of lower taxes and new business opportunities makes the state a popular and practical destination for such businesses.
