Rick Porter and Peggy Crane authored and updated a chapter titled "Environmental Compliance in the Context of ERM," in the third edition of the book Enterprise Risk Management for Health Care Entities, published by the American Health Lawyers Association. The chapter—which covers the several environmental laws that impact health care facilities—provides a guide to establishing an environmental law management system and performing self audits as well as how to respond to inspections. It also includes a comprehensive chart on environmental document retention laws.
