Janis M. Meyer and John (Jack) S. Pierce were quoted in the article "How To Best Prepare A Client For The Legal Bill" published by Law360 on August 2, 2016.
The article discusses advice on preparing a client for their legal bill which includes giving your client the bottom line upfront. Ms. Meyer is quoted as saying, "To the extent that a lawyer is open and upfront about what the rates are, [and] what problems the lawyer foresees, the better off she will be later on, because the client can’t say 'you didn't tell me that". The article also discusses the importance of using all communication tools that are available. Mr. Pierce discusses the importance of utilizing communication stating "You don't have to make a phone call, you can send an email saying, ‘I'm going to take a deposition at noon, I anticipate it's going to be a lengthy. He's a senior vice president of your competitor."
