David S. Weinstein—a Miami-based partner in the Government Practice Group at Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP—was quoted in several media articles analyzing news that Jane Serene Raskin and her husband Marty Raskin—two Coral Gables-based lawyers—will join President Trump's legal team in the special counsel's Russia investigation.

Weinstein notes that the Raskins are well respected "with a ton of experience" in federal court: people "hire them to come in and get the job done and not make a lot of noise about it."

“They’re not in it for the notoriety,” Weinstein says. “… these are not people just out of law school hustling around for business. They’re experienced. They’re well respected.”
Weinstein also noted the decision to bring in South Florida lawyers for a case that, for right now, is focused on New York and Washington: “Are they anticipating perhaps some South Florida connection?”
