Hinshaw partner Andrew Gordon of the firm's Fort Lauderdale office was recently the subject of a personal profile in the Daily Business Review. In the profile, Andrew discusses his family farm roots—he is a fourth-generation Floridian—his recent work on the Fort Lauderdale COVID-19 Reopening Working Group, and his practice as a commercial litigator and employment lawyer.
Andrew describes how he started his legal career in the middle of the previous recession, graduating law school in 2009, and how far his career has developed since that time. He became a partner at Hinshaw at the age of 34, and now manages a team of three associates in the Fort Lauderdale office. Fort Lauderdale partner in charge Ross Manella describes Andrew as a passionate and hard working lawyer, who "takes every decision and every case very personally."
Hard work accompanies community involvement and parenthood as passions for Andrew. Along with his work on the Fort Lauderdale task force, Andrew is also a father to Colton, a 3-year-old boy and Brooklyn, a 3-month-old girl. With work-from-home directives in place at Hinshaw, Andrew describes how he and his wife Jennifer are able to manage the responsibilities of work and family together.
"Every morning, I start the day off by taking my family for a walk. Every day I get to stop and spend time with family and have lunch," Gordon said. "Every time things have gotten stressful or frustrating, I press pause and play with the kids."
"With Countless Tools at His Disposal, Broward Lawyer Andrew Gordon Still Uses a Tomato to Stay Grounded" was published by the Daily Business Review, May 15, 2020.
