Hinshaw partner Craig Liljestrand has published his latest Chicago Daily Law Bulletin column titled "Asbestos case misstep brings remand." The article analyzes a toxic tort asbestos action, Jones vs. Pneumo Abex LLC, et al., No. 5-16-0239 (5th Dist. 2018), where the Illinois Fifth District Appellate Court ruled in favor of the plaintiffs, reversing a trial court's order granting summary judgment in favor of the defendants.
Liljestrand describes how the issue before the appellate court was whether the trial court erred in entering summary judgment against the plaintiffs. He goes on to describe how the appellate court found that the trial court had erred, reversed the circuit court’s order granting summary judgment and remanded the case for further proceedings.
