Craig T. Liljestrand, a Chicago-based partner in the Product Liability practice area at Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP, authored the article, "Failure To Prove Harm Costs Asbestos Case," published by the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin on April 12, 2016. This article is part of Mr. Liljestrand's monthly column with the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin "Toxic Tort Talk."
In the article, Mr. Liljestrand discuses how an Alabama federal judge recently granted summary judgment in favor of a valve and pump manufacturer on asbestos claims brought by the estate of a chemical plant worker. The claims against the valve manufacturer were dismissed, because the Plaintiff was unable to prove the valves contained asbestos and that the packing material inside the valves was made by the valve company.
