Hinshaw's Alec Zavell authored an article titled "Florida's Certificate of Need Program Turns to Certificate of Want," published by the Daily Business Review. In the article, Zavell considers the pros and cons of a new Florida law, effective July 1, 2019, that deregulates the "costly, highly-contested, and lengthy" requirements governing the establishment of new health care facilities and programs in Florida. "Now…health care facilities only have to satisfy licensing requirements with [Florida's] Agency for Health Care Administration."
