The Rockford office of Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP invites you to an informative series, Hinshaw's Breakfast Seminar Series, focused on specific legal issues concerning estate planning, creditors' rights, workers' compensation, senior housing facilities, government law, leasing, environmental law and labor and employment law.
The program includes a half-hour of networking session over breakfast beginning at 8:00 a.m. at Rockford's Northern Illinois University Conference Center, before the educational hour of each session that runs from 8:30 a.m. - 9:30 a.m.
The fourth in our eight-part series will focus on avoiding common pitfalls in resident handbooks and organizational policies and procedures.

If so, learn how the Fair Housing Act impacts your senior living facility, and how to draft resident contracts and handbooks to avoid pitfalls of the Act to which many facilities have fallen victim. This October 11, 2016, session will also address recent litigation trends impacting assisted living and independent living facilities, including the recent uptake in actions being filed on allegations of improper admissions/changes in condition, and also how policies and procedures can be drafted to both minimize risk and better prepare facilities when confronted with litigation premised on certain claims.
