About Dan

Dan is a seasoned litigator who represents insurance companies in complex coverage disputes and defends professionals against liability claims.

Dan represents insurers in first- and third-party insurance coverage matters, securing multiple summary judgments for insurance carrier clients. He also obtains dismissal orders for insurer clients against allegations of bad faith and unfair claim settlement practices.

In addition, Dan provides strategic counsel on intricate coverage issues. With extensive experience in policies such as commercial general liability (CGL), commercial and personal auto, homeowners, directors and officers (D&O), builder’s risk, workers' compensation, employers' liability, and advertising injury, Dan offers guidance on claims management and policy interpretation. Additionally, he counsels his insurer clients on sensitive claims, helping them navigate the complexities of claims handling and risk management.

Successfully obtained summary judgment in favor of an insurer client, with the court ruling there was no duty to defend or indemnify under a liability policy for a high-value bodily injury claim.
Secured summary judgment for an insurer client, with the court finding that the alleged property damage was not caused by a covered occurrence and was excluded under the policy’s terms.
Successfully obtained early dismissal of an insured’s bad faith claim under G.L. c. 93A and 176D, as the coverage disclaimer was based on at least a plausible interpretation of the insurance policy.
Achieved a defense verdict for an attorney client in a legal malpractice case after a three-week jury trial.
Secured a dismissal from a FINRA arbitration panel in favor of a broker-dealer client in a case involving fiduciary claims brought by a consumer/customer.
