About Jason
Jason is an experienced data privacy attorney who advises domestic and international businesses on data privacy laws, helping them comply with the ever-growing number of regulations both in the United States and abroad, including the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and others. He represents national and state-chartered banks, government-sponsored enterprises (GSEs), mortgage loan servicers, and collateralized trusts, providing strategic counsel on navigating the ever-evolving regulatory environment.
Jason also defends clients in state and federal court against claims involving breach of contract, confidentiality, fiduciary duty, non-competition and non-solicitation covenants, and indemnity obligations. Additionally, he advises on matters related to tortious interference, trade secret misappropriation, and violations of state and federal employment laws.

- Counseled insurer client on data privacy obligations specific to their industry for compliance purposes and to help them minimize risk.
- Advised a Chinese app developer on federal and state privacy laws in the United States for the pilot release of its new “all in one” social media platform.
- Assisted an international hotel chain with updating its privacy policy after China’s Personal Information Protection Law went into effect.
- Advised a payroll software company on its data privacy obligations under The Act on the Protection of Personal Information as it considered expanding its business into Japan.
- Counseled a national carpet designer and manufacturer on its data privacy obligations in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, and Virginia.
