Richard C. Harris

Richard defends commercial airline operators and product manufacturers against claims for personal injury, property damage, and product liability, with an emphasis on litigating critical motions. Richard also handles a variety of appellate matters in state and federal courts. Richard began his legal career working for the Office of the State Appellate Defender, where he represented indigent clients in direct appeals from criminal convictions. Thereafter, he clerked for the Honorable Susan F. Hutchinson of the Illinois Appellate Court, Second District. Through these experiences, Richard sharpened his knowledge of appellate procedure and honed his ability to identify critical issues in trial court proceedings and preserve necessary arguments for appellate review. Richard continued developing these skills working as an associate attorney with Adler, Murphy & McQuillen, a premier aviation litigation firm in Chicago. Richard later joined Hinshaw and advanced to partner shortly after.
