The U.S. law firm Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP is pleased to announce that Mitchel Chargo, partner and head of the firm's Cannabis Law Committee, was named by Cannabis Law Report to the Fifth Edition Global Top 200 Cannabis Lawyers 2024/2025 list, the second consecutive year he was listed in the directory.
The Top 200 Cannabis Lawyers is compiled from an annual survey of clients and lawyers in the cannabis legal sector. It is a resource for entities seeking to source cannabis, hemp, and CBD legal practitioners in the jurisdiction they wish to do business.
Chargo represents clients in various legal matters related to Minnesota's adult recreational cannabis program, covering regulatory compliance, licensing, financing, and corporate governance. Before joining Hinshaw, he served as in-house general counsel for a Minnesota medical cannabis manufacturer, managing regulatory issues, corporate matters, and real estate.
He has significantly contributed to the state's cannabis industry legislation and regulations. With nearly 30 years in commercial real estate and business transactions, Chargo also has extensive experience beyond cannabis law, including advising on real estate loan transactions and corporate business dealings, which resulted in his selection as a 2024 Top Lawyer for Real Estate Law by Minnesota Monthly.
Additionally, Chargo is the president of The Institute for Holocaust Research and Education and a member of several professional organizations, including the International Cannabis Bar Association and the Minnesota State Bar Association.
