Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP is pleased to announce that partner L.J. Rotman has been recognized in the Construction Law category of the inaugural Minnesota Legal 250 directory published by Minnesota Lawyer. L.J. is among only 26 legal professionals statewide recognized in the category.
About the Minnesota Legal 250
The 2026 edition of Minnesota Legal 250 recognizes 290 influential attorneys in the state across 16 legal practice categories. According to Minnesota Lawyer, these selected individuals “have experienced prolonged success and an ability to successfully navigate changing client needs, legal developments, technology, economic environments, and strong community engagement.”
About L.J.
L.J. handles complex real estate financing, acquisitions, workouts, and commercial transactions, with a focus on the hospitality industry. He has structured and negotiated billions of dollars in hotel transactions involving thousands of properties worldwide, bringing extensive experience to matters spanning construction contracts, land development, franchising, environmental compliance, and bankruptcy.
In addition, he has handled notable sports venue transactions, including Target Field and US Bank Stadium, as well as related infrastructure and mixed-use developments. L.J. has previously served on Hinshaw’s executive committee and as a former partner-in-charge of the Minneapolis office.
He has also received numerous honors throughout his legal career in Minnesota, including recognition by Minnesota Lawyer as part of the Minnesota Legal 250: Construction Law (2026) and The POWER 30 LIST: Construction and Real Estate Law (2021–2025), and has been named a finalist for Real Estate Lawyer of the Year by Minnesota Real Estate Journal (2024). Since 2010, L.J. has also been recognized by The Best Lawyers in America® for Real Estate Law.
