The law firm of Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP is pleased to announce that Minneapolis-based partner L.J. Rotman has been selected for the 2025 edition of "THE POWER LIST: Construction & Real Estate Law 2025" by Minnesota Lawyer. This marks the fifth consecutive year that Rotman has been selected to THE POWER LIST.
The list recognizes a select group of Minnesota real estate and construction lawyers "whose mere presence on a case signifies the stakes, who have influenced the direction of the law, whose leadership in the community is pervasive, and whose respect within the bar is undeniable."
Rotman serves clients in the hospitality and sports industries, having structured and negotiated billions of dollars in transactions involving hotels and sports venues worldwide. Last year, the Minnesota Real Estate Journal named him a finalist for the 2024 Real Estate Lawyer of the Year award.
His practice primarily focuses on real estate financing, acquisitions, and complex commercial transactions. With extensive experience in these sectors, he has successfully represented a variety of clients, including developers, investors, and hotel operators. Notably, Rotman has led several significant sports venue transactions, including those for Target Field and U.S. Bank Stadium.
Among his notable achievements is handling the sale of the RBC Gateway Office Tower, which was recognized as the "Most Significant Investment Sale Transaction" at the Minnesota Real Estate Journal's 2024 Awards. This $225 million transaction marked the largest sale price for office space in the Twin Cities and ranked among the largest commercial real estate sales transactions in the United States for 2023.
