A student loan resource guide published by Hinshaw was recently featured in an article published by National Public Radio (NPR) about an internal U.S. Department of Education memo that argues federal law should pre-empt state government efforts to impose tougher regulations on student loan servicers and debt collectors.
The guide—"Student Loan Servicing Regulations: 50 State Guide on Laws and Legislations"—aims to inform student loan servicers of the many regulations that have been enacted or are being aggressively pursued by many states and local governments. Edited by Vaishali Rao, a second edition of the publication is expected to be available in April 2018.
