In commemoration of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, ACA International profiled Hinshaw partner Vaishali Rao in a member spotlight titled "Vaishali Rao on Recognizing Diverse Voices." The article affirms #AAPIHeritage as a time to recognize and uplift Asian voices.
Rao reflects on her experience as a first-generation Indian American and how her heritage has influenced her personally and professionally. She notes the significance of uplifting Indian traditions and holidays like Diwali and Raksha Bandhan. On the importance of AAPI Heritage Month, she says:
It means taking a moment from all the day-to-day business and valuing the contributions of Asians to our country. It is also a reminder that although Asians tend to assimilate more easily than some other cultures, we have a lot of work to do to ensure our cultures continue to be appreciated, our contributions are valued, and our voices are heard.
