Hinshaw partner Anshuman Vaidya will serve as a panelist in a "Criminal Tax Workshop" on December 11, 2025, during the American Bar Association's (ABA) 2025 Criminal Tax Fraud and Tax Controversy Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada.
A popular workshop at this event, the panel offers practical guidance on handling sensitive civil examinations, criminal investigations, and defending criminal prosecutions. The session will cover when to anticipate criminal referrals, IRS Special Agent interviews of taxpayers or preparers, representation of targets, subjects, or witnesses in criminal investigations, approaches to Department of Justice conferences, procedural and trial considerations, tax loss arguments, effective plea negotiations, and sentencing strategies. Attendees will also receive a "criminal tax toolkit" with practice tips provided by experienced practitioners.
