On January 1, 2023, an amendment to the New York State Labor Law went into effect, requiring all employers in the state who have fifty or more full-time employees to display a Veterans Benefits and Services Poster in a conspicuous place accessible to employees in the workplace. The poster include the following information regarding veteran services:
On January 1, 2023, an amendment to the New York State Labor Law went into effect, requiring all employers in the state who have fifty or more full-time employees to display a Veterans Benefits and Services Poster in a conspicuous place accessible to employees in the workplace. The poster includes the following information regarding veteran services:
- Contact and website information for the division of veterans' services and the department's veterans' program;
- Substance abuse and mental health treatment;
- Educational, workforce, and training resources;
- Tax benefits;
- New York state veteran drivers' licenses and non-driver identification cards;
- Eligibility for unemployment insurance benefits under state and/or federal law;
- Legal services; and
- Contact information for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Crisis Line.
The poster can be downloaded from the New York State Department of Labor’s website. Additionally, employers are required to provide their employees with a digital copy of the poster.
