Eric Borneman counsels his clients on various complex areas of law both inside and outside the courtroom. Eric’s clients include government entities, educational institutions, construction companies, small businesses, individuals, and citizens’ groups. His work includes defending and advising clients on environmental laws such as the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERLCA), also known as Superfund, the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), the Clean Air Act, the Clean Water Act, and other state and federal environmental rules, regulations, and statutes. Eric provides educational institutions guidance on policy implementation and representation in student disciplinary hearings. In addition, he defends individuals, entities, and governments in personal injury, property damage, and civil rights actions.

As a former prosecutor, Eric has over half a decade of significant trial and courtrooms experience, where he spent the majority of his time prosecuting violent felonies, financial crimes, and a variety of other criminal and civil matters.

Personal

Eric, his fiancé, and their dog Paisley live in Freeport, Illinois. In his free time he enjoys golfing, cooking, kayaking, and taking on projects in and around his home and yard.
