About James
James is an experienced appellate practitioner, board-certified by The Florida Bar in appellate practice. He oversees a broad range of civil law matters, including administrative, commercial, family, medical malpractice, insurance coverage, labor and employment, bankruptcy, probate and trusts, products liability, personal injury, real estate and foreclosure, and workers’ compensation cases. In addition, James provides briefing, analysis, and other strategic support to the firm's trial-level litigators.
He has served as lead appellate counsel in both state and federal cases, appearing before all Florida district courts of appeal and the Florida Supreme Court. His federal appellate experience includes handling cases in the US Courts of Appeals for the Third, Fifth, Seventh, and Eleventh Circuits, as well as briefing matters before the US Supreme Court.
James prevailed in an appeal involving an attorney's fees issue of first impression for a major national client, where the court adopted most of his brief in its opinion.
