About Vicente
Vicente’s practice spans the full litigation process, with an emphasis on first-party insurance coverage cases in federal court. He also defends businesses and individuals in personal injury matters and represents businesses in landlord-tenant, real estate, and commercial litigation.
Vicente has a proven track record of successfully representing corporate clients in insurance disputes. Before joining Hinshaw, he defended some of Florida's largest insurers in first-party property, motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, and general liability cases.
Areas of Focus
Experience
- Obtained summary judgment on behalf of QBE Insurance based upon the insured's failure to comply with prompt notice requirements of the policy. In addition, the parties disputed entitlement to fees and costs. The court ultimately granted QBE entitlement to attorneys’ fees and taxable costs pursuant to applicable state and federal laws.
- Obtained summary judgment on behalf of Scottsdale Insurance Co. based upon the insured's failure to comply with several policy conditions, such as providing prompt notice, failing to keep an accurate record of repairs and expenses, failing to show the damages property, and failing to provide records upon request. In addition, the parties disputed entitlement to fees and costs. The court ultimately granted Scottsdale’s entitlement to attorneys’ fees and costs pursuant to Florida law.
