About Al
Al has devoted his three decades of practice to representing insurers and reinsurers – domestic and foreign – in complex litigation and arbitration proceedings. Al has handled high-exposure coverage cases involving premises liability and property damage, products liability, Section 1983 civil rights violations, errors and omissions, construction defects, transportation, environmental pollution, asbestos/toxic torts, advertising liability, personal injury, and more.
His experience spans industries, including oil, petrochemical, construction, electrical, aerospace, automotive, pharmaceutical, primary metal, paper, and medical devices. Insurers and reinsurers alike benefit from his counsel on a variety of issues such as coverage determinations, claim valuation and forecasting, reserving practices, and policy drafting.
In addition to his work for insurers, Al has represented clients in a wide variety of complex litigation, including securities fraud, lender liability, trademark infringement and unfair competition, shareholder disputes, product liability, personal injury, and wrongful death suits.

Al owns a busy retail wine business located in the western suburbs of Chicago. Also, when he's not sailing Lake Michigan in a Hobie catamaran, Al enjoys being on the racetrack (as a driver/ instructor, not a spectator) at Porsche Club of America high-performance driving events.
