Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP today announced that Rachel Nudel has joined the firm’s Defense Litigation Practice as a partner, operating from the firm’s offices in New York and New Jersey. Previously with Marshall, Conway, Bradley & Gollub, she brings extensive civil litigation experience in both state and federal courts with a diverse portfolio of high-stakes litigation matters, including insurance defense and coverage, professional liability, and general premises liability defense.
“We are very pleased that Rachel has joined our team on the East Coast,” said Albert Angelo, co-leader of the firm’s national Defense Litigation Practice Group. “She has an impressive track record in the courtroom, and her clients regard her highly for her creative, out-of-the-box solutions to their multifaceted legal problems. She brings significant depth to our litigation bench on the East Coast.”
At Hinshaw, Nudel will handle the defense of individuals and corporations in general liability and commercial litigation matters across various industries, including construction and transportation. She was attracted to Hinshaw because of the firm’s national platform, diverse legal service areas, and highly regarded defense litigation practice.
“I am very impressed by Hinshaw’s recent growth on the East Coast and its strategic vision for continued expansion,” she said. “I know April Villaverde, co-partner in charge in New Jersey, and am excited to work with her and the dynamic team she manages. The firm offers me an opportunity to continue growing my practice and book of business, while also providing my existing clients with exceptional service and a one-stop shop for all of their legal needs.”
Prior to Marshall, Conway, Bradley & Gollub, Nudel practiced law at other New York-based firms. Fluent in Russian and conversant in Spanish, she received a B.A. from Fordham University and a J.D. from New York Law School. She is a member of the Defense Research Institute and the New York City Association of Insurance Women.
“Rachel is widely regarded as a skilled and strategic litigator,” Villaverde said. “With her diverse experience across a broad scope of matters, she complements our existing team in New Jersey and New York and will help us to better serve our clients.”
