New This Year: Keynote Speaker U.S. Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL)
We are thrilled to announce that U.S. Senator Dick Durbin will be joining us on October 12 as our keynote speaker during lunch. He will be giving brief remarks followed by Q&A. Senator Durbin is not only this State’s senior senator, but he also serves as the Democratic Whip, the second highest ranking position among the Senate Democrats. In addition to these distinctions, Senator Durbin sits on the Senate Judiciary, Appropriations, and Rules Committees. His tenure along with his positions of authority make his comments and insight important and vital on justice, civil rights, jobs and the economy – and minimum wage, pay equity, health benefits and labor reform in particular.

Back by Popular Demand: "Labor & Employment Year in Review" and  "Advice on Tap"
The seminar will conclude with an open mic session where attendees will be able to pose questions to Hinshaw attorneys while enjoying beer, wine or soft drinks. Light hors d'oeuvres also will be available.

This Year’s Programming Highlights
This year’s seminar includes a dynamic panel discussion by a group of plaintiffs’ employment lawyers, a moderated and dissected cross-examination of an HR director, and several breakout sessions and discussions focused on employee benefits and potential Affordable Care Act reform, cybersecurity, and the complexities of entrepreneurial employment in the shared economy.

Continuing Education
Attorneys and human resources professionals may be able to earn up to 5 hours of continuing education credit. Applications pending.
