About Matt
Matt is an experienced litigator who represents financial institutions and businesses in a variety of complex litigation matters, including contested foreclosures, lien priority disputes, breach of contract claims, insurance defense, quiet title, vehicle replevin, surplus monies proceedings, housing code violations, chain of title, products liability, and professional liability. He also litigates matters involving the Foreclosure Abuse Prevention Act, statute of limitations, Real Property Actions and Proceedings Law § 1304, fraud, standing, the covenant of good faith and fair dealings, New York Lien Law, the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA) and Truth in Lending Act (TILA). Matt routinely represents clients in both federal court and state courts in New York, Massachusetts, and Connecticut.

- Secured summary judgment for a bank in New York over the borrower’s Foreclosure Abuse Prevention Act defense.
- Obtained a judgment restoring a mortgage which had previously been discharged on statute of limitations grounds.
- Secured a judgment dismissing a borrower’s FDCPA and FCRA claims in New York.
- Secured dismissal of an age discrimination claim filed against a financial institution in the Connecticut Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities.
- Obtained summary judgment in a foreclosure over a borrower’s RESPA and TILA defenses.
