Mark R. Deethardt

About Mark
Mark is an experienced trial attorney and litigator who represents national and regional banks, loan servicers, and other financial service clients in commercial and consumer financial services litigation, including single-plaintiff and class action lawsuits. For over a decade, Mark has maintained a diverse litigation practice, representing clients across a broad array of industries in both trial and appellate courts throughout Louisiana.
Most recently, Mark has represented major energy companies in Act 312 landowner contamination lawsuits, lawsuits alleging public and private land loss claims related to historical oil and gas exploration, production, and pipeline activities, as well as personal injury claims. He also represents businesses of all sizes in contract and lease disputes, construction litigation, insurance and property matters, tax title recovery, and other tort and personal injury cases.
In addition to his extensive trial court experience, Mark is a seasoned appellate advocate who has handled cases before all Louisiana courts of appeal, the Louisiana Supreme Court, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Before entering private practice, he clerked for Justice Jeannette Theriot Knoll at the Louisiana Supreme Court, an experience that has given him invaluable insight into the Louisiana appellate court system and into protecting his clients’ interests on appeal.
