Joe’s success in the following matters was achieved through his work as a member of teams engaged in appellate litigation or trial‑court practice.

• Secured affirmance of the trial court’s dismissal of a 15-count criminal indictment against Waukegan City Clerk Janet Kilkelly, based on the prosecution's use of false and misleading evidence before the grand jury, which denied her due process. 
• Secured affirmance of summary judgment for a governmental entity on equal pay, sex discrimination, hostile work environment, and retaliation claims brought by a former employee.
• Secured affirmance of summary judgment for local police officers on excessive force claims brought by an arrestee.
• Obtained reversal of a $106,000-plus Medicaid overpayment judgment against a physician after demonstrating he had not received adequate notice from the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services (DHFS). The ruling allowed our client to challenge the agency's overpayment determination.
