As Chief Financial Officer, James oversees Hinshaw's strategy for financial performance and operational efficiency. He collaborates with the leadership team on financial planning, analysis, and technology investments. Recent firm initiatives include launching legal industry–specific generative AI tools, streamlining client onboarding, and improving client communications through digital platforms.

Prior to joining the firm, James served as executive director, leading high-performing teams and implementing financial systems that strengthened operations. He also held senior financial leadership roles at other major law firms, where he drove operational improvements and enhanced financial performance.
