About Brooke
Brooke represents insurers through all stages of complex disputes, from case assessment and motion practice to resolution. She works closely with clients to understand their objectives, provide practical legal guidance, and develop strategic solutions that protect their interests. Brooke is committed to thorough preparation, responsive communication, and thoughtful advocacy, helping clients navigate legal challenges with confidence.
Prior to joining Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP, Brooke defended insurance carriers in civil litigation, gaining extensive experience in discovery, depositions, mediations, and motion practice. That background informs her analytical approach to each matter, combining attention to detail with understanding for both effective advocacy and efficient problem-solving. Brooke is dedicated to building trusted client relationships and providing legal counsel that is pragmatic, proactive, and results-oriented.
Through meticulous attention to detail and a thoughtful discovery strategy, Brooke reduced liability for her client by carefully reviewing the damages claimed and incorporating discovery into her deposition of the claimant. Combined with strategic deposition questioning, this approach lowered the plaintiff’s demand by over 90%.
Areas of Focus
Experience
- Conducted numerous examinations under oath based on strategy discussed with clients. Following each examination, Brooke provided a detailed report of the key findings, and advised clients on their claims handling, including working with clients to prepare comprehensive coverage determination letters and reservation of rights letters.
- Secured the withdrawal of a civil remedy notice on behalf of her client, avoiding potential bad faith litigation, all while resolving the at-issue claim for mere policy limitations.
- Leveraged expert site inspections and a detailed analysis of discovery materials, eliminating over $280,000 worth of flood damages sought on a windstorm damage claim.
- Obtained dismissals in more than 30 assignment of benefits claims on behalf of her clients. Brooke focused on noncompliance with Florida statutory frameworks surrounding assignment of benefits, eliminating her client’s liability in each dismissal.
- Through detailed deposition preparation and effective use of discovery practice, Brooke reduced her client’s liability on a homeowner’s insurance claim from over $300,000 to $25,000.
