Hinshaw partner Jason Winslow and associate Blair Keltner recently obtained a complete defense verdict on behalf of their clients, an OB/GYN physician and her employer.
Plaintiff experienced life-threatening complications while giving birth, which resulted in an urgent C-section, an emergent hysterectomy, and a subsequent ureter transplant surgery. These surgeries left Plaintiff unable to bear further children. Plaintiff alleged that prenatal advice she had received from our client was the proximate cause of her injuries; she asked the jury for more than $2 million in compensatory damages. The jury returned a complete defense verdict on behalf of the firm's clients.
