Steven Puiszis Elected Secretary-Treasurer of DRI–The Voice of the Defense Bar

Chicago —The national law firm of Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP announced today that Steven M. Puiszis, Deputy General Counsel, and member of the firm's Business Litigation and Governmental Practice Groups, was elected Secretary-Treasurer of DRI–The Voice of the Defense Bar on October 19 at the organization’s annual meeting in Chicago.
A long-time member of DRI, Mr. Puiszis previously served as National Director for DRI. He is also former President of the Illinois Association of Defense Counsel (IDC).
DRI – The Voice of the Defense Bar is an international organization of defense attorneys and corporate counsel that is recognized as a thought-leader and an advocate for the defense bar at the national and state level as well as in Europe. With more than 22,500 members, DRI provides members and their clients with access to world-class education, legal resources and numerous marketing and networking opportunities that facilitate career and law firm growth.
Mr. Puiszis is a highly experienced trial and appellate lawyer with a wide ranging practice. His areas of concentration include civil rights, professional liability, commercial litigation and class actions. He is one of the few attorneys nationally who has ever successfully defended through trial a federal class-action lawsuit.
Mr. Puiszis earned his J.D. from Loyola University of Chicago (1979) and his B.S. with honors from DePaul University (1976).
