Ronald L. Kammer Elected to American College of Coverage and Extracontractual Counsel

Coral Gables, Florida -- Ronald L. Kammer, the Partner-in-Charge of the Coral Gables/Miami office of the national law firm of Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP and co-leader of the firm’s Specialty Litigation Department, has been elected as a Fellow to the American College of Coverage and Extracontractual Counsel (ACCEC) by its Board of Regents.
Established in 2012, the ACCEC is composed of preeminent coverage and extracontractual counsel in the United States and Canada, representing the interests of both insurers and policyholders. The College is focused on the creative, ethical and efficient adjudication of insurance coverage and extra-contractual disputes, peer-provided scholarship, professional coordination and the improvement of the relationship between and among its diverse members. Through its Board of Directors and its working committees, the College shall engage in a wide range of activities designed to promote those goals, in addition to improving the civility and the quality of the practice of insurance law.
Kammer focuses on the representation of insurers nationally. He has been involved in many significant cases that interpreted an insurance company’s duty to defend and indemnify, breach of policy conditions, claims involving bad faith and unfair and deceptive trade practices, as well as coverage obligations for construction defect, pollution, trademark and patent infringement claims. Kammer regularly provides advice to insurance carriers and policyholders on issues involving policy interpretation, claims handling practice and procedures, and the drafting of insurance policy provisions. Kammer also practices in general civil litigation including commercial litigation.
Kammer currently serves as National Co-Chair of the American Bar Association's Trial Evidence Committee and is a past National Co-Chair of the American Bar Association’s Insurance Coverage Litigation Committee. He holds an AV® Peer Review Rating from industry standard Martindale-Hubbell and has been selected annually since 2006 for inclusion in “The Best Lawyers in America®” in the area of legal malpractice law and since 2012 in the area of insurance coverage; named annually since 2008 to the Super Lawyers list in the area of Insurance Coverage by Florida Super Lawyers magazine; and named in the International Who's Who of Business Lawyers for Insurance and Reinsurance since 2011.
