The national law firm of Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP is pleased to announce that Michael F. Iasparro, the partner-in-charge of the firm's Rockford office, has been appointed by the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois to serve as the next U.S. Magistrate Judge for the District. Iasparro fills the vacancy created when Magistrate Judge Lisa Jensen stepped down from the bench last year.
"We are so pleased to welcome Michael Iasparro, a seasoned litigator with experience in complicated civil and criminal matters. He will be an outstanding addition to our talented and hardworking magistrate judge bench and Rockford team," said Chief Judge Kendall in a court press release.

"I'd like to congratulate Michael on his appointment," said firm chairman Peter Sullivan. "He has been a wonderful colleague and also a valued member of our leadership team since assuming the role of Rockford office partner-in-charge in 2022. We wish him well in his new role of administering justice from the bench."
Iasparro first joined Hinshaw as an associate in 2008 and became a partner in 2013. He focuses his private practice on complex litigation and internal investigations, as well as counseling clients on antitrust and compliance-related issues. A former assistant U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois, he has worked extensively with government regulators and investigators from various federal agencies on behalf of his clients, including from the U.S. Departments of Justice, Treasury, and Commerce.
Iasparro is a graduate of Marquette University Law School (J.D.) and Rockford College (B.S.). He is admitted to practice in Illinois and Wisconsin.
