Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP is pleased to announce that partner Scott Seaman has been named to the inaugural list of Midwest Trailblazers by The American Lawyer magazine. The list recognizes 50 professionals from 12 Midwestern states "who have moved the needle in the legal industry" and "are truly agents of change." Seaman, a Chicago-based partner and co-chair of Hinshaw’s global Insurance Services Practice Group, was selected for his "high-profile, complex insurance coverage cases nationwide, which resulted in precedent setting rulings that have altered insurance law."
For decades, insurers and other companies have turned to Seaman and his team to represent them in high-stakes, complex trials, appeals, arbitrations, claims, cessions, and other matters; to provide advice on a wide-range of emerging and challenging issues; and to protect their portfolio interests. Seaman is widely regarded as a leading insurance, reinsurance, and business lawyer and thought leader. He is a fellow of the American College of Coverage Counsel and the Litigation Counsel of America. In addition to numerous individual awards and recognitions, he is included in Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business, The Best Lawyers in America, Leading Lawyers, Euromoney Legal Media Group, Expert Guides: "World’s Leading Insurance and Reinsurance Lawyers," and Who's Who Legal Thought Leaders – Insurance & Reinsurance.
The American Lawyer profile focuses on Seaman’s work on insurance allocation law and his treatise: Allocation of Losses In Complex Insurance Coverage Claims (Thomson Reuters 9th Ed. 2020-21). Midwest Trailblazers is featured in a supplement in the April issue of The American Lawyer.
