The U.S. law firm Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP today announced that partner Jill Munson was selected by Milwaukee BizTimes among its 2022 Notable Women in Law. Each year, Milwaukee BizTimes recognizes women attorneys for leadership within their firms or companies, significant contributions to advance workplace equality within their organizations and beyond, and mentorship.
A trial lawyer with more than 25 years of experience, Munson represents health care providers, including physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, home health care agencies and assisted living facilities, in successfully resolving malpractice claims and disciplinary actions. She handles litigation matters in state and federal courts and also represents attorneys in a wide range of legal malpractice matters and claims resulting from litigation, trusts and estates and eminent domain issues.
Munson was recently appointed Co-Partner in Charge of the Milwaukee office and also serves as the Milwaukee Office Mentor Coordinator. Throughout her career, she has guided multiple young attorneys, offering support and encouragement as they advanced from junior associate to the partner ranks.
"We are thrilled that Jill has been recognized for her legal accomplishments, leadership and mentorship," said David Hanus, Co-Partner in charge of the Milwaukee office. "Not only has she had a significant impact on the careers of many of our young attorneys, she continues to be a positive influence on our community through her extensive volunteer work."
Munson volunteers with Literacy Services of Wisconsin. Recognizing that a number of area residents were falling behind or dropping out of school during the pandemic, she tutored online to help a student obtain her high school equivalency diploma. Literacy Services of Wisconsin, a non-profit organization, provides access to education and training to adults from underserved communities, and assists with instruction in reading, writing, English language and tutoring for the GED and High School Equivalency Diploma.
