The U.S. law firm of Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP is pleased to announce that Hinshaw attorney April K. Toy has been elected Region IX President of the Hispanic National Bar Association (HNBA). Region IX provides HNBA membership services to attorneys located in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Wisconsin. The appointment goes into effect on September 29, 2021.
Established in 1972, the HNBA is an incorporated, not-for-profit, national membership association that represents the interests of over 65,000 Hispanic attorneys, judges, law professors, legal assistants, law students, and legal professionals in the United States and its territories.
Toy represents her clients in a wide range of civil matters including personal injury and premises liability defense, construction defect litigation, insurance coverage disputes, and bad faith claims. She has previously served on the HNBA Latina Leadership Academy, and is the former Deputy President of the Region IX Community Service and Pro Bono Initiatives. Toy received a B.A. from San Francisco State University, and a J.D. from Marquette University Law School.
