Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP, an AmLaw 200 firm, is proud to announce the firm has received back-to-back recognition as a Mansfield Rule Certified Law Firm. Earlier today, Diversity Lab, which manages the Mansfield Rule program, announced that more than 240 large and midsized law firms had met the official Mansfield Rule 6.0 certification requirements. In 2022, Hinshaw was certified as a Mansfield Rule 5.0 law firm.
The Mansfield Rule program aims to increase and sustain diversity in leadership within law firms by broadening the pool who are considered for senior lateral attorney job openings, firm governance opportunities, equity partner promotions, and firm leadership positions. Firms must consider broad slates of qualified talent for leadership roles that include at least 30% historically underrepresented lawyers—such as women lawyers, underrepresented racial and ethnic lawyers, LGBTQ+ lawyers, and lawyers with disabilities.
"It's not just about achieving certification once, but building a firm-wide DEI program that will have residual gains for years to come and something that everyone benefits from. That is why we were excited and proud to attain this back-to-back certification.," said D.L. Morriss, Hinshaw’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Partner. "The events of this past year have re-instilled our commitment to advance DEI and create pathways for everyone to contribute to and participate in that goal. Continued partnership with Mansfield does just that."
