The U.S. law firm of Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP today announced it has bolstered its global Insurance Services practice with the addition of Holly S. Harvey, Jorge A. Maza, and Spencer R. Booth in the Miami office. Formerly with Clyde & Co., Harvey and Maza are joining as partners while Booth joins as an associate. The trio brings significant experience representing insurance companies in bad faith and coverage claims disputes, and significant litigation matters.
With more than 25 years of experience, Harvey has served as coverage counsel for insurers in hundreds of high-risk claims related to construction defect cases, catastrophic losses on land, air, and sea, mass disasters, environmental issues, and class actions.
Harvey, Maza, and Booth are joining Hinshaw's leading national insurance practice at a time when insurers are contending with a slew of business interruption coverage claims related to the spread of COVID-19.
"The insurance industry is facing an extremely critical period, with significant threats to solvency throughout 2020 and in the years to come," said Ronald Kammer, Hinshaw partner and co-chair of the firm's global insurance services practice. "Insurers need skilled and knowledgeable insurance coverage counsel as COVID-19 and post-pandemic claims continue to be filed. This team brings substantial experience with a wide range of litigation and coverage matters that will bolster our capabilities and give us additional resources to serve our clients."
According to Harvey, Hinshaw's leading insurance practice and deep bench, along with the firm's nationwide footprint, will allow her group to better serve existing clients and continue to grow their practices.
